Dive the Jewel of the Indian Ocean - Dive Maldives

13-22 June 2020

Maldives

The Maldives is made up of a stunning group of atolls which play host to an underwater paradise.  Brimming with marine wildlife the sightings in the Maldives are world class. Nested in the warm tropical waters of the Indian Ocean, the Maldives is home to over 1200 tiny, low-lying coral islands.

Generously opulent in marine life and recognized as one of the world's most diverse and spectacular marine ecosystems, the vast range of dive sites in the Maldives provides something for everyone. There is a wide variety of diving on offer from coral reefs and pinnacles (Thila and Giri) to exciting larger channel drift dives. Divers have the opportunity to see a huge range of beautiful hard and soft corals as well as the potential to dive with manta rays, whale sharks, turtles, barracudas, jacks and tuna.

The Pelagic Encounter itinerary travels further south to Vaavu with the purpose of seeking out the larger pelagic areas. Channel diving is offered to maximize your chances of 'big fish' encounters and manta cleaning stations are also visited. Dive locations could include, Fotteyo Kandul- Vaavu Atoll, Guraighoo Kandu and Kamdooma Thilia - South Male Atoll and Fish Head - North Ari

Live aboard the Maldives Master

Maldives Master - M/Y Blue Voyager is a 37m, steel-hulled vessel that boasts three roomy double cabins and ten twin cabins. She features an indoor dining area, a bar and sky lounge, as well as a Jacuzzi. The ocean deck is a unique feature allowing guests to relax in the open air while close to the water. On many evenings the flood lights will illuminate the water just off the ocean deck to attract plankton which brings the manta rays and whale sharks. There have been many close sightings of the feeding mantas and whale sharks. Have your cameras ready.

One of the most outstanding features of the Maldives Master - M/Y Blue Voyager us the custom built dhoni (diving support vessel) Blue shadow. This new 19m dhoni is spacious, fast, and is equipped with all the modern conveniences that divers want. Each diver has their own station with plenty of space to store their gear and kit up, and the dhoni crew are ready to assist.

During the journeys to and from the dive sites, you can ascend the small stairs to the top deck to enjoy the sun and stunning views. There is a toilet with shower located inside the main deck plus two handheld showers on the back deck, and separate camera and equipment rinse tanks. A fast engine, two generators and two compressors with a nitrox mix membrane system means you will enjoy a first rate diving experience.
