Continue your SCUBA discovery with the waves, tides and currents specialty program

Drift Diving is nearly effortless and relaxing. You simply glide along and enjoy the rush of flying underwater while the current does the work, however understanding water conditions can be tricky.

Water motion can have a tremendous effect on your diving experience. You will learn about buoyancy-control, navigation and communication for drift diving and techniques for staying close to a buddy or group. You will also learn how to interact with waves when entering from shore, and in different types of waves, as well as the proper procedures and techniques, as well as the hazards of drift diving.

This program gives you the skills and knowledge required to conduct dives from shore, in currents, and in different types of waves, and you will earn the SSI Waves, Tides and Currents Specialty certification.
