Get back into diving with a Refresher Course - SSI Scuba Skills Update

It is easy for dive skills to get rusty and for divers to lose confidence when you have not dived for a while. A Scuba Skills Update provides you with the opportunity to review and practice necessary scuba skills and knowledge, under supervision of a dive instructor. They will review the knowledge you learned in your Open Water Diver course and will also cover any new material you should know about. You will review dive planning, and dive execution to keep you safe during future diving activities 

.Although your certification card is valid for life, the Scuba Skills Update is often required for continuing your diving training after a long period of time away from the sport. Certified divers who have not been diving in over 6 or 12 months may wish to take the course to regain their scuba skills, although this will depend on your previous number of dives and qualification, plus the length of time out of the water. 

Overview of the day

- Meet at our dive shop in Warkworth around 8:30am (contact us if a later time suits better)
- Quick review of the dive theory in the dive shop (you will get access to the e-learning when you sign up for your refresher course)
- Drive to the dive site (approx. 20-30 mins, please contact us if you don't have your own transport)
- Equipment set-up
- Skills review in shallow water
- Dive
- Drive back to the shop & debrief, finish around 1:00 pm
